Ages, Stages and Paths

Our lives are made up of millions of choices.

Our mindset has a huge impact on how we make those choices, and those choices determine our lived experience.

All humans have certain structures and ingredients in common. What we do with those common ingredients makes up the complexity and uniqueness of our individual lives.

Ages, Stages and Paths

Each human lives out their days in chronological order
(ages) and passes through basic developmental stages that are closely related to our education and work. We all have various paths we take through that chronology.

Paths are areas or categories of a life that include education, career,
physical health, relationships and spiritual paths.

Are you Thinking...

…But I’m not interested in being a “healer”—I’m not really the “woo-woo” type.

I know. Me either. Hahaha.

How can I explain this....

I’m more of a linguist than a “healer”. Trying to find the words to describe what I mean is one of my passions.

A Healer Mindset is a choice to look for the “healthiest” most authentic and powerful version of our body, mind and relationships.

I’m also more of an educator than a “healer”. I am absolutely fascinated with the power of the mind and what affects our beliefs and subconscious life.

I observe and study the connection between the quality of people’s minds (i.e. the kinds of thoughts they nurture, embrace and repeat) and their lived experience and quality of life.

I have watched people choose to become aware of their mindset. They have changed what they think about and what they pay attention to or ignore. As they stick with this intentionally mindful path, it alters the direction of their life.

For example...

==One person began Holding Space Practice during the stage of separation from a marriage partner. She had chosen to ignore the emptiness of their unhealthy relationship for two decades. Through the legal divorce process and beyond, she did about 3 years of consistent inner work and practice.

Her way of seeing herself and the world changed. She found a partner who had also been learning life’s lesson through an unhealthy marriage. Their healer mindset helped them to strengthen and heal themselves and their children.

Another example...

==Another Holding Space Practice member came from a life where her nervous system was so dysregulated that she became non-functional. She could barely go into public without her service dog despite her tremendous native abilities and intelligence.


Through several years of professional therapy, she began to work part-time then full-time with rehabilitation status that allowed her to take time off when her world crumbled beneath her feet.

By the time she began Holding Space Practice work, she had already come a long way, but she still needed her service dog to keep her calm enough to go into public settings.

She strengthened her healer mindset over the course of about a year and no longer needed her dog to accompany her. She continued to do the work and grow stronger and stronger in her capacity and resilience.

Recently she reported with excitement and amazement that she can now confidently go alone into social settings knowing she has tools to keep her nervous system calm and regulated.

She has become a go-to person to help de-escalate emotional episodes among co-workers and helps others learn how to develop their own healer mindset.

And...

==A third example is someone that approached me and confided that she was struggling in her marriage and maneuvering through conflicting feelings between focusing on raising her children and developing her career.

As she developed a healer mindset, she took decisions one step at a time that toggled between both. As she got really clear with herself about her personal values, she eventually made choices to prioritize her marriage and motherhood.

Though living on her husband’s solo income meant choosing a financially modest lifestyle, she now feels rich in her relationship path.
